I know it doesn’t really matter at this point, but just wanted to put out that there haven’t been any posts since my “Review of Five Words” because of technical difficulties that have now been resolved.
It made me think about how dependent we get sometimes. Vladimir was out of town and unable to help me at the time. I took a stab at fixing the blog when my initial stupidity broke it, but after that, I got used to the idea that the blog was not working and that he would figure it out. So I didn’t try again. Several days later, when he showed me what was wrong, I knew that had I simply continued to study the problem I would have been able to fix it on my own. But I stopped trying.
On the other hand, I already had a very full week and what would have taken me several hours to figure out took Vladimir about 15 minutes. So it is not only about dependency, but also about efficiency. Even though there are things that, yes, we COULD do, perhaps it is better to let others do those things, especially when those people are more skilled in that particular undertaking.
