I walked into the book store today and realized something: I was surrounded by trillions of words I would never read – information at my fingertips that I would never know in this lifetime.

That, alone, is reason enough to hope for an afterlife.

  1. My preferred mode of operation at the public library:

    1. Pick up the one book that I intended to pick up.
    2. Wander randomly through the stacks and pick up ten to twenty other books that catch my eye.

    I guess I’m hedging my bets in case they don’t have library cards in the afterlife.
