Knees, Tonsils, and Indestructible Eyes

Previously on my old blog, ‘the granola rules’, I mentioned I was feeling a bit over done on the medical front. Some time later, I realized that this was definitely a cause to be thankful, because everything was either minor or completely elective. They just all happened to be thrown into my life around the same time. There are a lot of people out there who have some serious problems that they can’t expect to be mere forks in the road that will lead them to overall better health. To those people, I wish them comfort and sustenance.

Anyway, here is a short update:

Physical Therapy: I graduated early for good behavior. I’m also a case study for a student PT who did a fantastic workup on me and gave me a lot of great advice. It is kind of cool and fun being very flexible, but I also need lots of strength to protect the joints.

Tonsils: These thoroughly diseased and scarred (according to the doctor) vestigial organs walked the plank on Thursday. Narcotics make me really nauseous. My uvula is huge.  This brings a couple of extra pills into the regimen, but otherwise I’m recovering pretty well.  This is day 4 post op, and I did feel a lot worse yesterday, so I’m hoping that was the ‘gets worse before it gets better’ hump I was told about. It is the long view that helps here though: in the end I will feel much better. I can’t help but wonder how a chronic low grade infection affected my overall health. Will I feel like superwoman after this? Will the bullet bounce right off if someone shoots me in the eye?

Speaking of my eyes, I’ve been given homework. I think I may have mentioned this before. I’m to decide between Veriseyes and Visian ICL. I’m a good candidate for both. I’ll post more detailed information about them, and hey, maybe I can get some input from my small audience.

Now that I’ve got my blog writing under control, I’m excited to jump back in and let my thoughts out.
